Director Greg Carter Screens "A Gangland Love Story" 07-20-10


Director Greg Carter talks to C-47 Houston Entertainment Magazine



Houston Director and Filmmaker Greg Carter (Now in L.A.) premieres and screens his new film "A Gangland Love Story" (formally "Elbows and Vogues") at the River Oaks Theater July 20th, 2010. Greg Carter was in attendance as well as a lot of the cast and crew. The theater was packed.

The film is a Romeo and Juliet story set in a gangster enviroment where two opposing gangs fight each other and love between the families brings about a tragic twist and turn.

Casting includes: A.J. Lamas, Gary Sturgis, Reagan Gomez Preston, Carlos Cervantes, Lew Temple and Junie Hoang. With appearances by Franklin Anderson, Derek Ashford, Omar Garcia, Jeffry Griffin, Jalene Mack, Beny Schwarzt, Brandon Smith and Michael Wayne Thomas.

As I was watching Gangland Love Story I kept going back and forth on whether or not I like it or not, it was kind of like a low-budget re-imagining of Romeo & Juliet that worked at times and at other times fell short. I do think it was worth watching and I’m glad I saw it once. Good to see if you can watch it with an inexpensive way, what I use is Blockbuster online. It’s a great cost effective way to watch movies and one of the great things about it is that if you change yoru mind last minute you have the option for in store exchanges. That’s something you can’t do with Netflix. As a DISH Network employee I’m also happy to say that new DISH customers can now get Blockbuster absolutely free for 3 months.
